If you’d like to transfer a domain name from one domain name registrar to another, you will need to go through a couple of security steps. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authorization code from the current registrar – as long as you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s email and nobody else can obtain it. You’ll have to give this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they won’t be able to initiate the domain transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may comprise of numbers or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily misentered, so make sure you copy & paste the correct code. As an extra security measure, the transfer code for a domain may be altered regularly. Some registrar companies refer to this code as a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting

In case you have a cloud plans, you’ve registered a domain name with our company and you would like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP transfer code with less than several clicks of the mouse. When you log into your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you’ve registered with our company listed in alphabetical order. Next to each domain, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all gTLD and ccTLD extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between registrar companies. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the registrant’s email momentarily. In the same section you can also see and ultimately change the email, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

In case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain that you wish to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer authorization code astonishingly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer both your domain names and your account. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll notice an EPP logo next to your domains, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to make sure that only the domain name owner can obtain this info. In case the current address isn’t valid any longer, you can edit it with a couple of clicks without needing to leave this section of the Control Panel. The change is instant, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the specific domain straight away.
